Inspiring story

No matter what you are going through in life, I want you to understand that you have what it takes to come out of it a stronger and a better person. Yes, no matter the hardship you are faced with today you can make your tomorrow a wonder.

Most of the leading entrepreneurs, music superstars and multi-millionaires and billionaires you and I celebrate today were once in your shoes but were able to turn their situation around because they did something about it.

If you are ready to do something about yours today, this post is tailored to motivate and guide.

The founder of the Mongol empire Genghis Khan was only nine when his father Yesugei was poisoned to death. Not long after, his clan ostracized his family leaving his mother Hoelun to raise seven children alone.

While in the wild, they ate wild fruits and all kinds of unimaginable things to stay alive. The situation got so bad that Khan killed his half-brother Bester in a dispute over food. In fact, he and his family faced the kind of hardship you may not wish for your worst enemy.

When he was a teenager, Khan and his young wife Borte, were abducted and made a slave. Despite the unimaginable hardship and complete no life said to this man, in his early twenties he had established himself as a formidable warrior and leader.

In fact, his sterling qualities and force of character attracted to his side a sizable number of followers. After amassing an army of supporters, he set about conquering territories.

He conquered twelve million square miles of territory, larger than any individual in the history of the world had conquered. Khan conquests were many, and his renown extended from the rising to the setting of the sun.

He surpassed all in might in his lifetime and in fact, founded one of the largest empires [the Mongol empire] in human history. Today, he is rated as one of the most feared conquerors of all time.

In case you don’t know, there are three races of mankind and the Mongol race is one of them.

The Three Races of Mankind

1. Caucasians

2. Negroes

3. Mongols

You can see that in spite of all that this man went through in life, he became the founder of a race of people. A Wiseman has rightly said, “Adversity causes some to break, others to break records.”

Sometimes in life, empty hands and empty pockets are the greatest weapons a warrior can have for a battle. Thomas Edison claimed that he could think better because he was partially deaf. No experience is a waste!

Don’t forget that lemonades are made from bitter and quaky lemons, while delicious omelets come out of broken eggs. Don’t let your situation take from you what the future hold for you. Where you are doesn’t matter, what matters is when you act.

Genghis Khan proved that your disadvantaged background and the environment in which you function cannot dictate your essence of being. They cannot set a limit on you without your permission.

The life of this great warrior and emperor is a message to you and I. the message is simple and it is:

. Never allow whatever you are passing through define your life

. If you were born in the slum, it was because you were assigned to lead people out of it by becoming an inspiration

. Things will work for you when you work out things

. Invest yourself in personal-development

. Don’t allow anyone tell you you can’t

You must not allow anyone tell you you can’t because it has been proven over and over again that you can live beautifully against all odds. Yes, you can make it! In short, you can dwarf the achievements of the Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey’s of this world.

All you have to do is say yes to yourself. In the words of the 16th United States presidents, Abraham Lincoln, “That some achieve great success is proof to all that others can achieve it as well.”

Here is the whole truth: The good life of the rich does not have anything to do with their skin color or education; it is simply the full meaning of their choice.

If you make up your mind to succeed, even if you a purple man from planet Mars or a green woman from planet Saturn the blue sky will set aside the world for you. Poverty chooses no one rather we are the ones who chose to live in it.

Genghis Khan was not satisfied with the kind of life he was living; so he decided to put an end to all the dramas in his life by taking action. When he made an attempt, he discovers that there was nothing to success. In fact, he boasted, “Success is cheap.”

If you want to know how cheap success is act on these instructions.

1. Have a sophisticated view of yourself

Yes, you must think highly of yourself all the time because you are in possession of a brain whose power is unlimited, a sound mind that conceives things an imagination that creates and above all an indomitable spirit.

Your little education, little skill, disadvantaged background and environment cannot erase this fact. You look at yourself from a distance that is why you don’t see how big you are.

When you stop complaining, apportioning blames, and moaning and groaning about the state of affairs in your country you will see the hero in you. Remember, success is big to attract it you have to think big.

Genghis Khan was able to have high desires and set huge goals because he thought highly of himself. The universe responds to what we think and feel according to the law of attraction. It is impossible to make a million dollars when you don’t have it in your mind account.

That is why the famous steel magnet Andrew Carnegie advised us, “be king in your dream.” It is exceeding improbable to save a thought worth that kind of amount in your mind account when you think yourself into smallness or see yourself through the eyes of those who think less of you.

2. Crave for that which you seek with intensity

Do you know that success is a do or die affair? If you still find yourself sleeping and yawning into the morning after setting a goal it means that you are not ready to succeed.

If you are still hanging out with friends and partying hard after drafting out a plan, it means you don’t know what you want. According to the legendary footballer Pele, “When the other players went to the beach after training, I was there kicking the ball.”

Michael Jackson in his lifetime had a lot of brothers, a lot of friends but he chooses to spend six hours every day rehearsing new dance steps because he knew to become a pop star was no child’s play.

Yes, it is true he loved his brothers and sisters dearly but he didn’t allow them stand on his way. At a point Alexander Graham Bell told himself, “I have made up of mind to find that for which I am searching even if it require the remainder of my life.”

Not until you repeat this same statement to yourself and mean it with the whole of your heart, you are not ready to succeed period!

3. Use your situation to motivate yourself

When Genghis Khan started to pursue his dream in life, despite all the myriads of obstacles he could not turn back because anytime he thought of such a thing, he reminded himself the life he was going back to.

Before you give up on your dream if you can take a minute to reflect on your life you will discover a thousand reasons why you shouldn’t dare it. No matter the risk involve in what you want to do, you will quickly realize that there is no risk bigger than living without money.

Dear esteemed readers; yesterday may be gone, but you have today, make it count. You may not be able to change yesterday but you can plan to change tomorrow. You can do something about your tomorrow and do it now.

I wish you a resounding success in your pursuits.
