5 Things to Avoid to Make it in Life

Category: SELF-DEVELOPMENT Published: Thursday, 25 October 2018 Written by Life Coach Efosa Emovon

Whoever tells you-you can’t amount to anything in life, has the same problem the lizard had that hug a crocodile thinking it was its uncle. I guess you know that was Ignorant.

Anytime a person or a situation tells you, you can’t, before giving nod to the lie, use at least five minutes to reflect on what Jimmy Denny once told Elvis Presley after throwing him out of grand D. Ole studio in 1954.

This was his advice for him. “You ain’t going nowhere, son. You ought to go back to driving a truck.” If you think Jimmy was right, then ask people who the king of rock and roll is.

Albert Einstein was once considered dumb and even told in school he could never amount to anything in life, if you think his teacher was right, ask your friends to name the top three scientists the world has ever known.

Several assessments rank Einstein as one of the greatest scientists who ever lived. In addition, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest physicists of all time.

He altered the world’s approach to physics and today, he is view as a man of prodigious intelligence and his name has become a symbol of genius.

In fact, Time Magazine even named him the greatest scientist of the 20th century. People have their mouth they can use it to say whatever they like. Remember, you have your mind you can use it to believe whatever you want.

Liverpool decided not to sign Cristiano Ronaldo because they say he wasn’t good enough. Ronaldo believes they were wrong and a year after, signed for Manchester United for 12.24 million pounds.

The man who conquered the highest mountain in the world Mt. Everest, Edmund Hillary said in one of his interviews, “Both Tenzing and I thought that once we had climbed the mountain, it was unlikely anyone would ever make another attempt, we couldn’t have been more wrong”.

If the world decides to write you off, let them go ahead but don’t join them in it. Remember, you are in possession of the magic pen [talent] to write yourself in. John Lennon’s aunty was always often telling him, “The guitars all well, John, but you will never make a living out of it.”

Lennon failed all his GCE O-level examination and was accepted into Liverpool college of Art only after his aunty and headmaster intervened. While in school, everyone thoughts he would never amount to anything in life.

But he proves them wrong by becoming the lead singer of the most successful rock group the world has ever seen the Beatles. Rock band U2’s lead singer, Bono, commented, “Overcoming my dad telling me that I could never amount to anything is what has made me the megalomaniac that you see today.”

Here is the truth; not only can you amount to something; you can change the world if you take the decision and stand by it. What you are told only matters when you make it a matter.

Never lose sights of who you are, celebrate your uniqueness. There is nothing you cannot do if you set your mind to it.

Anyone who tells you to sow your coat according to your size, does not know anything the fact is you don’t have a size you are a giant. Reject the biased position life has placed you and the poor man title it has forced you to accept.

That you have small thing is not because you are not cut out for a big one, but because you don’t believe in it. If you make up your mind to succeed, the entire blue sky will set aside the world for you. You must not do the five things listed below if you wish to attain an enviable height in life.

1. Don’t allow anyone or anything tell you you can’t

It has been proving beyond reasonable doubt that we can make the most of our life and live beautifully against all odds. It has been proved, we can recreate our lives and put an emphatic end to financial problems despite all the rock bottom we hit and all the no’s life says to us.

Your life can go through different seasons: spring, winter, summer, autumn[raining or dry} but one thing is abundantly clear; you can remove the first three letters from your disappointment, break new grounds, create new paths, chart new frontiers and change your situation.

Let me re-echo the phrase of a Wise man, “We can’t escape pain, we can’t escape the essential nature of our lives,’ but we do have a choice. We can give in and relent, or we can fight, persevere, and create a life worth living, a noble life.Pain is a fact; our evaluation of it is a choice.”

Whoever tell you-you can’t do a thing, is scared you are about to get ahead of him or has not opened a dictionary to see that the word impossible is I’m possible.

Whatever you want to do go ahead and do it and don’t allow the ignorance of others stop you. Sometimes go out of your way to attempt what dumb people called impossible. This is how to achieve greatness. Take time to absolve this.

2. Never brand yourself a failure

You have no right to brand yourself a failure because you have not tried enough to see what you can do. If you want a better quality of life, never allow anything to hold you back. Don’t let what you are passing through define who you are.

Destroy any beliefs bent on holding you hostage. The reason you failed is not that you are not good enough but that you are learning something that will help you become a better person, a better leader.

No matter how dire an insurmountable the situation may be, never make the mistake to brand yourself a failure because you are not. Think highly of yourself all the time. Declare yourself a winner even when you fail. This is one of the greatest secrets of attracting success.

Below are some of the reasons you must never make the mistake to tag yourself a failure:

. Your fighting spirit gets weaken by such feelings.

We all have a fighting spirit, which was installed in us to conquer obstacles on the path to success. If you want to achieve your goal within the shortest time, you must endeavor to stir it up with positive vibration.

Negative vibration such as negative thoughts and words can kill it faster than a bullet kills. Success becomes impossible, when we start to address ourselves with horrific titles such as failure.

. You start acting like the failure you tagged yourself

The last thing you will do is set worthwhile goals when you have already concluded nothing good can come out of you. You attract what you feel, say and imagine to yourself.

If you tag yourself a gangster, you start acting like one. This is what the law of attraction stipulates.

3. Never aim low

Do you want to become a millionaire? Before you answer yes, remember it is not possible to get a million dollars when you set a thousand dollar goal. If you want to become a millionaire, you should start doing something that can fetch you million of dollars.

It is the height of stupidity to say you want to become a millionaire when your salary can barely cover your bills. One of the reasons adduced for your economic downturn is your decision to aim low.

You have become more susceptible to poverty because of the kind of dreams you pursue. You can only answer "yes" to my question when you have not only found out the business or something that can fetch you a million dollars on monthly basis, but move into action to start doing it.

You must start waking up in the middle of the night to draft out plans and design strategies before you can answer "yes" to my question. Remember, action speaks louder than words!

4. Never fold your hands

It has been proving that the god who favors a lazy man does not exist anywhere. Indolence is the number one cause of failure. An ant on motion goes far than a dozing horse.

There is no better way to say you want to go through life as a failure than to fold your hands. The punishment for folding your hands is failure. Folding of hands does not only mean doing anything but cutting corners, displaying incompetence, coming late to work etc.

5. Don’t be shy to ask questions

Wise men say knowledge is power. What this means is that all you have to do to possess power is to acquire knowledge. And how do one acquire knowledge? By studying, researching, and asking questions.

Don’t ever think you know it all because you don’t. To succeed in life, you must be good at asking questions. In fact, those who are guilty of doing this one thing excel beyond all measures in life.

Remember, what you don’t know you don’t know. Your raising shoulders and claiming to know it cannot put the knowledge on your head. Ask questions if something is not clear to you; that is the best way to learn.

it was the great Chinese philosopher and thinker Confuciuos who said, "The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life."

The man who is not shy to ask questions, never gets lost. In the words of a Wiseman, “The art and science of asking questions is the source of all knowledge.” Wish you a resounding success in your pursuits.
